Les Gets
Les-Gets Village
Les-Gets really is a beautiful village. Traditional alpine architecture. No tour operators – no tower blocks. Quaint shopping streets, friendly bars and restaurants. There are banks, supermarkets, chemists, ice rink, bowling alley, cinema, launderette, museum and local produce shops.
Snow Conditions
In spite of a few bad starts to the season Les-Gets still has a great snow record. It’s lower altitude may put some people off but remember being all meadow based it needs only a few cm’s of snow to open. In fact during the terrible start to the 17/18 season last year in the Alps Les Gets was actually superior to the ice and rock hopping in Tignes!
Les Gets Lifts and runs
Les Gets is best suited to family skiing. The local lift network is extremely well connected so you can always get back to the village centre in just one or 2 lifts. There are however around 64 lifts and 70 pistes in Les Gets alone. For those seeking more thrills the connection to the massive Portes du Soleil area is easy. This provides the benefit of altitude skiing, long open runs and some of the best man made and natural snow parks in the world including the famous ‘Stach’ in Avoriaz. Check our ski area page for more details or the Les Gets official site here.
People and prices
Les Gets remains relatively unknown with the English so you don’t tend to find groups of larger louts like you do in the 3 valleys or some of the Austrian party towns. I wont say it’s cheap here, but at least being a real village there is competition between restaurants. There are a few bargain eateries both on the mountain and village where you can eat for well under 10 euros. A pint is going to cost 5 euros upwards. That’s still significantly cheaper than some of the more commercial resorts! The lift pass for the week is still under 200 euros.
Night Life
If you are looking for Ibiza in the snow then Les Gets is not for you! However there’s the ‘Apres Bar’ – open air on the snow at the bottom of the piste. It has either a DJ or a live band, and is popular from 4:30 to 6:00ish.
We prefer Bar Bush, and are very happy to meet you there more or less every day for an apres. Later on Bar Bush host bands, fancy dress nights, quiz nights etc…. the place to be.
We like anywhere with live music, and are always keen to have a go. Join us at the open mike on a Monday evening apres! This is Mally in the Boomerang in ‘Blues Week’

Local Transport.
It’s easy to get around the village. If you can ski and the conditions permit then ski down to the village and back to the chalet. It can be challenging, it can be amazing depending on the freeze. The free bus stop close by only 1634 m from the village its just a few stops. In high season there are 4 buses per hour both up and down, in low season this drops to 2. There is also a ‘petit train’ between the 2 main lift stations. In the morning we are happy to drop off for ski school, and we’ll be in Bar bush if you want a ride up the hill at the end of the day.
