It has been a slow start here due to the Les Gets snow conditions. Les Gets does have a few runs open luckily due to the vast amount of snow making equipment. This means the Les Gets snow conditions are perfectly acceptable for the beginners but limited for intermediates and above. The SA Gets team have worked wonders with lorry loads of snow being transported onto the slopes. They are working hard to open the main Chavannes run into the village and fingers crossed this will be by the end of the week. Weather continues to remain cold with snow forecast over the next few days. t has been very cold at night so the cannons have been running continuously to allow ski lessons to continue as normal. Avoriaz in The PDS has more runs open and their snow conditions are better than the Les Gets snow conditions. Avoriaz is approx 70% open but obviously fairly busy being school holiday season.
So needless to say Mally and myself have not done much skiing but are enjoying the beautiful blue skies and getting fit. Today we hiked up to the Pleney and walked back along our ski route home. It looks so different without snow and is actually easier to find new routes. I can not believe that in 13 seasons we have missed perhaps the best ski home to the chalet. For those customers who remember skiing down the Nabor track and then pushing through L’Aigon garden- the last few minutes can be tricky. Today we found an epic route through meadows and some logs that will form a snow bridge across the stream meaning we dont need to go close to chalet L’Aigon.
Mr Ski would like to wish all it’s customers a very happy 2017 and continued support.
