Conditions of the slopes in Les Gets today 24th Jan 2017 remain good considering the last snow fall was 15th Jan 17. The temperatures have remained very cold during the day and night keeping the snow in fabulous condition. There is no off piste to be had as all skied out it will have gone very crusty. We have fantastic blue skies and plenty of sunshine during the day . It remains a cold temperature during the day and night. Today having a particularly cold wind to contend with . Great in the sunshine very cold in the shade. The skies remain snow free for the current time with freeze levels low.
Mont Chery – I decided to check out the conditions of the slopes here too, this is located on the other side of the village and skied mainly by the locals. As I got to the top of the cable car I noticed only one lift running not such a good sign. The slopes below me were looking bare in places. I noticed that Planeys was also running so skied over to this. The Chamois red run known by the locals as cold corner was in perfect condition nicely pisted and no-one on it. I had the run to myself most of the morning and spent my time practicing my carving techniques with both short and long carves. It was just fantastic. By this point they had managed to get a further lift open and more people started to appear.
The resort is very busy with lots of English, French and Dutch in town.
The free ski bus has been working well this season always to be on time which is fab news for the users. Well done SA Gets for keeping the pistes in great condition and the free transport running smoothly.
