"La Bal Eteillaz", was first built around 1930 and was the first chalet to be built on the Chavannes hill. In 1936 the top half was destroyed by fire and re-built. We believe it remained untouched and unloved until we bought the chalet in May 2004.

We have retained as much as possible of the original character - including the Boisery (woodwork) in the lounge, the hand carved beams, and the end grain flooring.

This picture was taken in May 2004, before any work began. First improvements were:

Connection to mains services, Bathrooms, Kitchen, Decoration

This is our home - a never ending project. Now all bedrooms are ensuite, fully double glazed, the roof is insulated!, additional balconies and patio doors.

Next jobs will be.... Landscaping the garden, converting the loft - if we ever get planning permission!
